Croatia

Croatia (general)

With its picturesque, rocky coast, over 1000 islands, countless dreamlike bays and beaches, Croatia is one of the most beautiful and varied sailing areas in Europe.
The Mediterranean climate on the Croatian Adriatic allows water sports until November. Wind and weather are perfect for sailing and Croatia’s coast with countless quiet anchor bays and very well-equipped ports and marinas is ideal for a yacht charter.
The “Caribbean of the Mediterranean” offers something for every taste. The landscapes are impressively diverse, the vegetation lush, the azure water clean and clear and ideal for snorkeling. Croatians are known for their hospitality, the food is varied and the wines are very good. Croatia’s coastal cities are rich in culture and sights. In the idyllic old towns you can walk in the footsteps of the Romans, Byzantines and Venetians.
In Croatia, sailing trips can be combined excellently with relaxation, cultural and culinary experiences, whereby each of the coastal regions is unique and special.

Sailing areas

Croatia’s coast can be divided into four sailing areas:
Istria & Kvarner, Northern Dalmatia, Southern Dalmatia and Southern Croatia.
In the north there is the Istrian peninsula with beautiful harbor towns such as Porec, Rovinj and Pula, and the Kvarner with the islands of Krk, Rab, Cres and Losinj. In the south is Dalmatia, an increasingly narrow 450 km long strip between the Adriatic and the mountains. There are three sailing areas in Dalmatia: off the coast of North Dalmatia, the Kornati Islands, an empire made up of countless islands with the cities of Zadar, Sukosan, Biograd, Murter, Tribunj, Sibenik and Primosten. To the south of it comes the region around Split and Trogir, in front of it are some large islands such as Brac, Hvar, Solta, Vis, and Korcula. Dubrovnik is located in the very south of Croatia. From here, you can take a trip to the offshore islands, the Elaphites, and neighboring Montenegro.
